Tyler Christmas 2010

The Saturday after Thanksgiving was our Tyler Family Christmas Party. This year was just as memorable as the previous events. The Christmas season is not about the gifts we receive or the gifts we give, but rather the time we cherish with our family and the blessing we have been given. We love to spend time with our family and every year are amazed at how quickly the family is growing! Wishing every a Merry Christmas and Blessed Holiday Season!

Great Grandma and all the grand kids with their spouses.

Great Grandma and all the great grand kids. As you can see some of the little ones were not impressed with the picture taking and just wanted a nice quiet nap!

Megan made this Tyler picture for Great Grandma. All of the pictures are significant and show each letter of the family name. The "T" is farmhouse street sign, "Y" is Great Grandma, "L" is Great Grandmas hand, "E" is the kitchen cupboard, and "R" is from Great Grandpa's grave stone. What a beautiful gift and wonderful idea!

Aleigha is such a ham!

Enjoying the meal and love the shirt buttoned all the way Tyler. :~)

What a crowd......

Our Christmas party ended up falling at the same day and time of the Ohio State & Michigan football game. As you can imagine quite a few people were fretting about the conflict all the way up to the event. As you can see by the big screen a set up was figured out and all was happy and even more so since the game was an absolute blow-out.

The kids opening their gift. Chloe was too quick getting hers that I missed my picture opportunity.

Tyler receiving his gift from Great Grandma. Aunt Margaret is making sure she gets plenty of pictures too.
Haley receiving her gift from Aunt Barb and Great Grandma. Melanie had the perfect seat to see all the action.
After this kids got their gifts Great Grandma gave her kids their boxes. Tradition has been that they receive things from the farm. It is always a trip down memory lane. This year Dad got a box of books. Some dated back to the early 1900s. He even got one of the books he read quite a bit as a kid. Always fun.

Great Grandma was looking through a book that was copyrighted the year she was born 98 years ago!!

Sean lost his wedding band and asked that the kids try to help find it. The girls took it so seriously that they mapped out all the tables and tried to draw possible paths that the ring might have rolled. Of course their map drawing and meetings were held privately in the girls restroom so the boys didn't get any ideas. LOL..... (When we left the ring was still MIA.)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving! We spent the day at Aunt Nadine and Uncle Greg's house. There were 40+ family members there. As you can see many tables and chairs are needed. We are truly blessed for not only the Shadle family, but also the Tyler side. Even though we weren't with them today doesn't mean they were in our thoughts and we are excited to see everyone on Saturday. We thank God for all the blessings He has provided us not just today but all year long.

Daddy digging in......ha-ha.

An annual tradition is to have some target practice. This year Tyler got a bow.

Papa Shadle trying out Tyler's bow.

Tyler shooting his air soft gun.

Gavin shut his eyes right when I snapped the picture four times in a row. I was bound and determined to get a picture with his eyes open. He was so silly, but.................

Gotcha!!! :~)

Chloe's Thanksgiving Celebration at School

Mrs. Johnson's Class
The students got to keep their tables set up like this all day. They had the other class of Native Americans join them for their Thanksgiving feast at lunch time.

Chloe is in the bottom right corner.
This was the last day for one of the students. All of the kids were wishing him well as he moves to a new school.

Lots of happy pilgrims.

Northwestern vs. OSU

OSU's Emily Danks killer jump serve... Haley's goal is to learn how to serve like her. She went to a camp this summer at OSU and Emily was one of her coaches. She is in awe of how good those girls were!

Oh my!

Tyler and Chloe learned that they can bend their legs in an unnatural way. The first time Tyler did it we were in the chiropractor's office. Dr. John couldn't believe what he was seeing. If I remember correctly Haley insisted on the apple in Tyler's mouth. What a great big sis!

Chloe

This is definitely a talent I am not going to encourage. Their knees will be a mess when they get older. :~)

Party Time....

Haley was excited that her friends Sarah, Mallory, Jocelyn, Victoria and Gretchen were able to come over for a slumber party. The girls were playing a game called "Ninja!"

There was lots of laughter coming from the basement....

:~)

Nothing like a little YouTube entertainment.

Winding down watching a movie.....
