Corinne and Logan Visit

Grandma went to the park with us while Haley was at practice. The kids showed her and Logan their favorite place!
What a crew and car full.

Blake loved having Logan entertain him.

Metzger Park

While Haley is at volleyball practice the other three kids and I hit the park for the morning. Always a good time. We typically stay a little while after Haley joins us when she is done.

Seems to be my kiddos favorite place in the park.

Slide Time

Tire swing. Faster, Faster, Faster!

Blake insisted on pushing his siblings. He started to run around and the swing went faster than his little legs and he wiped out, brushed off and kept going.

Blake found out he could go down this slide all by himself. He is getting so big. Chloe loved to go down right after him as if she was chasing him. He always gets a big kick out of it and giggles hysterically.

The kids love the tire hole. They can climb up through it to get on the play set or down it to a small tire swing.

Camp Invention Week

June 20 through June 24

For the fourth year I have been the director for Camp Invention in our school district. This year was my biggest year yet. I worked with an assistant director, 5 instructors, 7 counselors, 3 junior counselors, and 95 campers of students entering grades 1 through 6. Haley got to be a paid counselor this year and she was extremely excited about that. Both Tyler and Chloe enjoyed being campers again. Hands on science activities all week.

Chloe working on a camouflage activity. They took an ad from the newspaper and used clay and tried to camouflage it within the add photo somewhere. Lots of fun.

I was teaching a group of students about solutions, mixtures and compounds before beginning the hands on activities to show the campers the difference. I was sporting an interesting hairdo in the spirit of wacky hair day.

Mr. Davis was teaching the Wild (Wonderous Innovations and Living Designs) module all week. On this day he was showing the students how strong paper cups and cardboard can be. The campers were amazed.

This was the blue group that Chloe was in all week. She is by her camp counselor Brittne on the right of the photo.

This was the red group that Tyler was in all week. He is behind the boy in the red shirt.

They were buddies all week. Two of my 7 counselors, Haley and Haley!

Annika and Chloe with their clubhouse they worked to make all week.

Chloe showing her ball-moving invention that had to include at least three steps and the marble needed to end in one of the two ending points. Chloe and Corynne had cups attached to the end of their invention to catch the marble.

Corynne and Chloe proud of their invention.

Eddie and Tyler worked on their invention. The older group of kids learned that their Rube-Goldberg-type machine had to incorporate four steps that resulted in the display of a "winner" banner. Nothing like paper tubes, duct tape and string to make some boys happy.

Haley and another counselor Kayla!

We had such a fun, exciting, imaginative and yet exhausting week! Already looking forward to next summer.

Crashed out

After a long day of playing at Grandma and Grandpa Tyler's house, there is nothing like a soft blanket and favorite pillow pet.

Oh Tyler!

As I was working on packing up some things, there were a couple of totes not used at the end of the day. Tyler took that opportunity to create. I was surprised to not only see him walking around the house this way but also outside and he even went up on the playset and down the slide wearing them. It was a trip watching him walk in from outside. They weren't the easiest things to carry around.

Blake loves to water the garden

He does such a great job! :~)

Homemade Kite

Tyler and Chloe spend the day working on making a kite out of sticks, string and a kitchen garbage bag.
Finally time to try it out!

After a fun day it was bath time. Chloe and Blake decided bubbles and jets were needed.

Happy day!
